A Transformational Leadership Development Opportunity
What do the explorers Lewis & Clark have to do with digital transformation? Turns out a lot! In a previous post in The Journal of Digital Transformation, Lewis & Clark: Leaders for the Digital Era, I wrote of the leadership traits exhibited by the Captains and how those relate to us as business leadership today. This is why I am so excited to announce to you, the Fellows, members and followers of the Institute for Digital Transformation, a unique leadership development opportunity.
The Lewis & Clark Virtual Experience: A New Way Forward is an immersive, virtual journey that uses the historic expedition as a backdrop to explore five key leadership lessons that are still critical today:

Transformation begins with your why…your vision. Lewis & Clark, through Thomas Jefferson, had a powerful vision. Changing the culture of your business into one that embraces transformation requires a strong team. The Captains formed and trained an amazing team of 31 men, a woman, an infant, and a dog! Along your transformational journey, you will encounter countless obstacles. You and your team will need the skills and the foresight to overcome them. The Corp of Discovery was faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, yet overcame them. Like Lewis & Clark, you will need personal resilience, team resilience and resilience within your ecosystem of partners. Lastly, your transformational journey is not over when you reach the “Pacific”. Digital transformation is a new way of doing business, you must be able to proceed on!
Leaders today are faced with uncertainty. Meriwether Lewis and William Clark left behind comfort and certainty to undertake a journey of discovery. They went beyond the bounds of what is known in order to forge a new path across uncharted territory.
